After the parade and the burning of bad moods, the inauguration of the Costalegre Carnival by the municipal president of Cihuatlán is carried out, and crowded events are held with the presentation of artistic casts from the municipality and surroundings.

The months of January Barra de Navidad is decked out with a traditional tribute to Carlos Santana; It takes place in the panoramic pier and gathers more than two thousand people. Soundtracks with timables, keyboards, batteries and guitars with hits by Carlos Santana are presented. This spectacular party, which brings the Barra de Navidad boardwalk to life, is also a sign of affection for the guitarist Carlos Santana, originally from Autlán, Jalisco.

What is known as the January Classic has been taking place in January for 45 years.
